1983 Ms. Hands and Feet, 1988-1992 BITWIN – Collaboration with Hanayagi Suzushi

Back in the 1950’s, I worked with the butoh dancer Suzushi Hanayagi to design several pieces of stage equipment. I actually installed an object on-stage in 1970 and thereafter began using media in the theater. Joint recitals of this series were held in cities like New York, Paris, Madrid and Milan before ending up in the Chekhov Theater in Moscow. One live performance involved suspending a great many TV monitors over the stage for a live screening of Suzushi Hanayagi, dancing. I used a camera to film her myself on stage.
